She is currently ranked 2nd Nationally as a Junior, 4th Nationally as an Adult outdoors, 3rd Nationally as an Adult indoors and 14th in the World.
She has been driving since she was 8 and competing since she was 14.
While competing Amber cares for the pony and makes sure everyone else is doing their job. She owes her sucess to her wonderful family and sponsors as well as her brilliant ponies.
Emma O'Neill
Emma is Ambers mother and Backstepper. She also rides and drives herself and has been driving 10 years.
When competing Emma does all the transport, cooking and helps with cleaning everything and can usually be found making everyone a much deserved bacon roll!!
Jasper belongs to Emma.
Kiera O'Neill
Kiera is one of Ambers younger sisters. She also rides.
When competing Kiera helps with the cleaning from the Carriage to the pony.
Kiera is very fussy about how white Jaspers socks are and won't let Amber clean them as she "doesn't do it properly".
Kiera is an essential part of the team and a great help.
Jasper is Ambers current competition pony and is an 10 year old Irish Cob X Quantock pony. He has been driving for about 4 years now and he belongs to Emma.
Jasper was bought as a two year old to be Emma's quiet plod it was never the intention to drive him. When Amber won a Sports Aid grant she spent the money on having Jasper broken to drive as she needed a second pony.
So far Jasper has been to the Indoor National Championships 3 times and has qualifed twice for the BHDTA National Championships and competed in Austria for Team GB
Not bad for a home produced pony who was never bought for the job!
